Avoid seaweed, kelp, algae, and agar-agar and Carageenan (a common additive in ice creams, puddings, salad dressings, toothpaste, lotions, chewing gum, etc). READ LABLES.

Cereal products such as corn flakes, potato chips and crisps, etc are often preserved with “Vitamin E” or “mixed tocopherols” for freshness: companies are adding a fish-oil preservative. This is a common additive in the health food store processed food lines.  READ LABELS.

Alternative:

A pure sea salt is your best salting option.  Use only products that list “sea salt” on the label rather than “salt”.  “Pink” Himalayan Salt is also safe.
