Derren “Dez” Fielder
Chief Technology Officer
Transforming the Way Health is Managed
Derren Fielder (Dez) has been an entrepreneur and business owner for over 30 years, developing software and business intelligence solutions for medium and large businesses, including numerous blue-chip companies.
Dez started his IT career teaching computing skills both commercially and formally at Brunel University, before creating his first IT consultancy which focussed on building and deploying software solutions for leading global enterprises.
Dez and his team pioneered an integrated CRM and business intelligence platform for Dell Computers UK during 1990’s before partnering to create a consultancy focused on delivering business intelligence solutions for the leadership teams of European subsidiaries of large technology companies, including: Lenovo, NetApp, Avaya, Nortel Networks.
With data integration being a major component of developing the data warehouses required for business intelligence solutions, Dez and his team developed the world’s first self-service cloud-based data matching platform, which was capable of processing and matching millions of records on demand. This system leveraged massively parallel processing database architectures to provide near instance matching capability online and on demand.
Dez is a libertarian at heart, an advocate for free speech, a big supporter of personal privacy, whilst also an advocate for open data.
He currently resides in the UK with his wife, 3 beautiful daughters, and a somewhat wayward hound. Prior to the pandemic era, Dez was also a student and sensei, studying and teaching martial arts in his spare time, but also integrating these principles into his life and work.
